Is Treatment for Varicose Veins Covered by my Insurance?

Generally, the answer to the question of whether your insurance company will pay for varicose vein treatment is yes!

Varicose veins are considered a medical condition in those who are symptomatic and who are diagnosed with venous insufficiency. Health insurance companies, AHCCCS, and Medicare will cover the costs of treatment if you are experiencing these symptoms:

  • Leg Pain
  • Swelling in the Legs and Feet
  • Feeling of Heaviness in the Legs
  • Burning and Tenderness in the Legs
  • Impaired Blood Flow

You should note that insurance companies typically require that patients try more conservative varicose vein management techniques for a time before they will approve the various varicose vein ablation procedures. Compression stockings are usually the favored treatment in this case, and Dr. Rose can prescribe these if you require them.

We Answer Your Questions About Varicose Veins and Insurance

The team at Advanced Vein Institute of Arizona wants to set your mind at ease. During your appointment, Dr. Rose will answer all of your questions about your veins and treatment. Either Courtney or Michella will answer all of your questions about insurance, scheduling and post-operative care.

Additionally, we will secure pre-approval with your insurance company for any vein procedures or vein treatments that have been recommended. At this time, we will verify with your insurance company the percentage of costs that they will cover, and make you aware of any out of pocket costs that you would be required to pay. As we are not contracted with all health plans, we still may be able to work with your carrier on an individual basis. We also offer CareCredit if you need to finance your varicose vein treatment.

Sonja B., Advanced Vein Patient

"Don't put off these treatments for your legs. I am very pleased that The Pain has been removed from both my legs, due to the treatments I received from Advanced Vein Institute of Arizona.

The outstanding attention given by the caring staff and Ms Rose helped me recover from extreme pain in both my legs. It took just a few days to recover from my treatments and if I had questions I was allowed to call Ms. Rose, for quick answers.

THANKS to all the Staff at Advanced Vein Institute for the loving care!"

Emilie F. Advanced Vein Institute Patient

I'm 31 and I've had a ugly vein behind my right knee for years. This year was the very first time I was experiencing pain from it and decided to take care of it. I made very small researches as I was very scared of the procedure.

I found that institute online and requested an appointment online. Shortly, I got a call to confirm the appointment and was able to fill all the paperwork online and send my infos via email, very convenient since I run my own business and work crazy hours.

The first appointment, I got an ultrasound to locate the veins that needed to be treated. As I was very nervous, Karlea explained to me the process and was very nice and comforting. I met right after the doctor Jilianne Rose who gave me more details about the laser procedure and I decided to just go for it so I can finally get relief.

After insurance approval, I scheduled both legs two days in row. I was terrified about needles and laser and all these scary words. During the procedure, all three women around me, Jilianne, Karlea and Lucy were comforting, nice, explaining and everybody made sure I wasn't in pain.

It was the first time I was so comfortable during a medical-surgical procedure. At the end of the first leg procedure, doctor Jillianne handed me a business card with her personal cell phone number in the back, and told me to contact her if I had any question, concern or pain. I have never experienced such a close relationship with a doctor before. I felt confident as she was taking such good care of me.
I will recommend this place anytime, to anyone who needs such a procedure.

As of today, after one month, the relief is undeniable. My legs are not sore the way they used to be after a long shift at work. I am so glad I did it at the Advanced Vein institute.

To all the team: Bravo and thank you!
