What is arterial screening?

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) screening is performed to make sure circulation in the legs is found to be within normal limits.

We work very closely with podiatrists and orthopedic surgeons to provide preoperative peripheral arterial screening. It is important for patients undergoing lower extremity surgery, that circulation in the legs is evaluated and found to be within normal limits, in order to ensure appropriate healing and minimize the risk of post procedure complications such as infection or blood clots. At Advanced Vein Institute of Arizona, our experienced ultrasonographers Karlea and Susan, and provider Jilanne Rose, DNP-C take the time to thoroughly evaluate your lower extremity circulation and review your medical history, to ensure that your recovery from lower extremity surgery is not compromised by a potential undiagnosed vascular disease.
