Venous insufficiency treatment always includes the three “E’s” that is:

  1. Elevation of the leg,
  2. Exercise, and
  3. Use of Elastic compression.

In cases where an intervention or surgery are considered, a duplex ultrasound provides essential information about which segments of your veins are abnormal, whether obstruction or reflux are present (or both), and how extensive a problem exists.

This information helps guide your vein specialist’s recommendations and provide information that may help predict how successful treatment will be.
