It is typically recommended to utilize conservative therapy when possible
Question: I am a 37 year old female in Tucson who had a laser ablation performed on both legs, high ligation on the left leg, and still suffer from reflux. Sclerotherapy is the next form of treatment I am scheduled to have. Should I continue to wear support hose when traveling, exercising, etc since it seems to reoccur?
Answer: Venous insufficiency is a chronic progressive disease process. In those patients who require additional intervention, it is typically recommended to utilize conservative therapy when possible (i.e. compression stocking use with travel, gentle exercise, elevation of the legs, etc.).
